Kenny,
I know Gary pretty well, and spend about an hour in that car driving it, and
know about all the mods he did to it...very nice car.
<< The new love of my life and consumer of all my bi-weekly paycheck is Gary
K's old 4ktq. It has an MF2 injector driver with 2 Motronic injectors and
Dual fuel pumps. How does this system work, my dad understands it more then
I do, I am clueless... This sounds like it is set up running the CIS with
partially EFI control but what is controlled by CIS and what is EFI?>>
The MF2 is an auxilary injector controller, compeltely independent of the
primary CIS fuel system. The MF2 uses RPM and manifold pressure to pulse the
2 injectors that are plummed in there. The higher the pressre and rpm, the
more pulsing. Its not really EFI per se, just EFI injectors being controled
by an electronic box in a suplementary capacity.
<< I am a newbie at this and being only 17 pretty much a newbie at
everything. Any
help would be great hope I don't bore other listers with my silly questions.
Javad's site and car are amazing anyone else with EFI experience I want to
hear anything you have to say about it. (Or Turbo 4k's) Should I be doing a
full EFI conversion?>>
I had that conversation with Gary before he finally decided to sell the car.
It really depends what you want out of the car. I drove it last summer, the
car ran well and strong, it was quick and well set up. If you are happy with
the amount of power it has, that I'd say your done, enjoy. That car's fuel
system is maxxed out, however, IME the CIS airflow meter becomes a major
restriction above the 250hp mark (not to mention fueling limitations), which
is probably right about where you are at now. If you want more power, then
EFI is probably your next option.
