Free Carfax, and a laugh

    I ran the car I bought a few months ago through and the ONLY report was
of an accident in Toledo, OH, no other reports on anything else.  I was a
little confused considering it was represented as a southern only car that
had been bought after an accident damaged the front end down south.  Though
no report of salvage or accident down yonder.  The fellow selling it said
Carfax was probably wrong and as far as he knew it was southern only, no
heated anything, no ski bag, and so on.  When I got the car back to NY I
opened the door stepped out and noticed a sticker on the door jam, "If this
car is ever in an accident send to Tom's Autobody, Toledo, OH."  Felt a
little burned, but reaffirmed to me that Carfax is reasonably useful and
accurate.  It seems to take a long time for records to get into the database
though, checked the VIN for kicks last night and found the title issued in
GA, emissions in NY, and title in NY, took several months to get in.
