Hi all,

Today, my 86 4kq greeted me with a seatbelt (I assume) buzzer that I didn't
know I had, and only a flashing oil light (no other idiot lights) when I
turned the key to ON. The car is not running yet. Start it and the horns
chirp briefly! Well, at least it started with no other complaint! Now, while
staring at the instruments, I notice all the other idiot lights are
flickering dimly then go out. The voltmeter on the console is reading 12 or
11.5V. Usually, it goes right up to the high 13s or so. I give it a jolt on
the gas pedal. No charge. I drive off, and by the end of the block, the
voltmeter is back up to normal. But the battery light didn't come on except
for that brief flicker at the start.

Next start of the q, all idiot lights on at ON position, with "new" buzzer.
Start car, all AOK. BTW, I put my seatbelt on after I start the car, so I
guess that switch /buzzer might be ok. But I've had the car since October
and it's been silent til now.

What gives?

Cheers,
