Engine won't rev over 2k - update

I posted this on the V8 list as well, but I thought there are more
people on this list, with some more tips. :)

Well, we are still fighting the V8 war, and it seem to be winning.

So far we changed all the hoses, speed sensor, idle switch, checked the
electrical connections, and cat. We also had to change the throttle
body, because someone has monkied around with it and the inside pipe was
damaged.

We still have to install the fuel filter, and somehow connect the O2
sensor, which is taken off and it is plugged.

The car still does not go over 2k. If you try to push it, it smokes up
the garage it will run so rich, and it chokes. Seems like it's in "limp"
mode.

I have a question re. testing the MAF sensor. It suppose to hold the
voltage for 5 secs after turning the ignition on, but it holds it
constantly. Any ideas what that may mean???

What else should we check?

A CD would be great! Somebody (and I apologize, but I forgot who)
offered to burn me a copy, but I never got it.

Thanks guys,
   Zsolt
