I have long harbored the suspicion that not all Bosch rebuild units are
actually rebuilt by Bosch but rather by low wage minions in some
dank electric repair shop in an unsavory part of the City of Industry or
similar. Could it be that bootleg, cleaned up junk alternators somehow
wind up in nice new Bosch boxes? At one time, I experienced a rash of
bad "Bosch rebuilds" sourced from a struggling local foreign car parts place
before hitting a winner first try from one of the nationally known Audi
parts sources.
