Hi Aaron,
There are 3 bolts/mount. Two secure the mount to the subframe, one big one
to secure the diff housing tab to the mount. Assuming the bolts aren't
rusty, this is a simple R/R.

Yes. For one side, you won't need to support the diff. For the other side,
just lift the diff using your thigh.
Replace both mounts. Do not replace just one. The one that you think is OK
is prolly cracked and near dead. BTDT.
Rear diff mounts are $12/ea at thepartsbin or zygmund motors. the partsbin
has free shipping for orders>$50.
Also, if you have not done so, replace both of your trans mounts. These are
also cheap. This is also an easy job on the 4kq(assuming you don't have
frozen bolts on the pass side).
Replacing all 4 mounts takes an afternoon and is the best thing you can do
for the drivetrain.
Motor mounts are next............!!
use audi part #443199382. These are the hydraulic MM for 5ktq that listers
have use as an upgrade. $40/ea from thepartsbin or zygmund motors.
HTH.
