Got home to two packages waiting for me.
1st a big box from Germany:
I bought a set of Euro H1/H4's for my 85 4kq from a follow lister in Germany
and they arrived yesterday. Brand new Cibie's neatly and safely packaged.
These are just the lights no brackets, bulbs or wiring but cost much less
than anywhere else I could find. I test fit one last night and 2 of the DOT
light mounting points line up and one other will only require a slight tweak
to the original DOT bracket (it is off by about 5mm). The 4th mounting point
will require a small 'L' bracket. I will wire them similar to Huw's (Mr.
Audifans.com Most Posted) wiring layout but with a couple of tweaks of my
own. Unfortunatly I won't get to work on the installation or wiring this
weekend because I will be at Thunder Hill raceway for most of the weekend
for a Porsche Club time trial so.
2nd a small package from Greene, NY:
My VAG-COM harness' and program. Now I just have to come up with a cheap
laptop and I can access the OBD on my Passat and several other friends VW's
and Audi's that are new enough to have OBD. I purchased the diagnostic
program from a fellow lister as well. Boy, is this list great or what!!!!!
Thanks
