I was driving along the other day and started a right hand turn. The
steering wheel kind of hung up and seeing how my options were to crank
hard on the wheel or hit a car, I cranked on the wheel. As I did I
heard a crunch in the steering column that sounded like plastic getting
torn apart. It continued to do that for the next two turns and then
stopped. Now when I turn left or right there is a very slight sound
like something rolling over broken plastic and the steering wheel seems
very much more hesitant to turn in the direction I turn it. All my
signals still work. Any ideas what that was? Should I take the time
now with it so cold to take apart the column and pull out whatever
broke?

Thanks!
Fred
