It's no more difficult to separate the halves and replace the seals than to
replace the ones under the big caps on the front end.  Everything you need
(to do a complete seals replacement), except for the tools, comes in the
reseal kit.  It's under $25 usually.

I wouldn't replace hoses unless you already have a leaking problem from
them.  That would be fairly pricey.
