If you haven't done so, yet, replace, cap&rotor, plugs. If that doesn't do
it, replace the wires with a new set of OEM BOSCH.
[Any advice on this problem greatly appreciated:
1990 Audi 80 - we are original owners, 84,000 miles - Car skips, hesitates,
loses power temporarily, has only stalled a few times. This is an
intermittent problem that has been occuring for about two years mostly when
it is humid and when the gas tank is full (we no longer fill it more than
3/4). Seems to happen mostly when going uphill and when accelerating.
Happens mostly at moderate speeds (30-50 mph) but has happened on interstate
at 65+ mph (incline, upon acceleration). If we pull over and shut off
ignition and restart problem usually disappears although this is not usually
necessary. Mostly hesitation is minor and goes away itself. Problem will
not occur for weeks or months at a time then will restart.
No local Audi mechanics in our rural area and dealer is not interested. If
you can help, that would be great.
