My urq recently did the seal/mosquito fog trick. It would start clean and run
fine for a short time and then at a light, when your surrounded by many
witnesses, it would engage the oil smoke cloaking device.
I had the turbo rebuilt, and not had any problems since. A used unit from a
breaker would quite possibly have the same problem. As difficult as it is to
replace (the downpipe flange bolts can be a bitch) you only want to do this
once. Replace the motor mount while you're in there.
Turbo rebuilders are scattered around the country, and vary greatly in price.
Hopefully other listers can recommend names for rebuilders. I can't recommend
the shop I used as the price was 2-3 times what other people have paid.
Good luck.
