FWIW, I see new cars of all makes/models w/snow chains when I head up into
the mountains. I think the key is getting chains of the right size.
PS: I love getting "the glance" by the CHP. They check out cars going by the
checkpoint and direct them to the shoulder for chain application. Then I (n'
other quats n' 4by's) simply get a quick glance and motion to keep moving.
