Yes, it does do its work at idle, but the end result is 6D BTDC, which is
where I have it set. The smog test is done at idle and at 2500RPM, the
numbers are about 4 times worse at idle than at 2500. I don't thing a few
degrees of timing either way would cause a car to be 4 times past Gross
Polluter. My brother's 4kq with the 2.3 just passed fine..with a disabled
vacuum advance canister.
