OK i just went through all of this here in VT with the guys from Autohaus. We
found a truck parts store that makes hoses with parker fittings. Don't forget
that trucks come in Isuzu and Volvo flavors these days. Metric was not a
problem.

For the engine side of the hoses, I ended up buying the straight fittings and
having them crimped on. But... these didn't clear the rest of the car, so I
inded up buying and using 90 degree elbow fittings. And not wanting to go
through the hassle of getting these crimped, I put them on the lathe at work
and turned them into hose barb type fittings. Now I can use any hose (not just
that dreadfully stiff 4 wire 4000psi stuff that they use for crimping!).

At the oil cooler end of things I replaced my little audi unit with a perma-
cool unit. It is bigger and has 1/2 inch hose barbs.

As a temporary measure if you blow a hose and haven't gotten your ducks in a
row for new stuff yet, a quick fix is to make a loop that eliminates the oil
cooler. It requires sawzalling off the old hoses (the fittings are not siezed,
but the swiveling parts are). Removing the fittings and screwing on the loop
hose. A quick rescue fix if you get it right the first time.

If anyone wants some of these "custom" fittings I am sure I can arrange
something. The truck parts store is across the street from my work.

ANyway my 2002 cents.
