It's interesting that German cars (at least new ones) are cheaper to buy in
Canada (and probably USA) than in Germany, but parts are not. Last week I
got the WoT for a 1988 90 Q for 83 DM (1/2 that in Euro) tax and all. The
same thing in the Great White North was at least $129 Can before tax.
What's with that?

NAC questions follow for our German and/or European listers and, of course,
Phil Payne; please respond off list: What does AU mean as a part of a car
registration in Germany, usually listed along with TÜV? What does renewing
the AU and TÜV involve and how often does one have to do it? Are there any
other car ownership things, paperwork, costs in Germany in addition to the
above 2 and insurance? Can one buy car insurance for less than a year, e.g.
a month or so?

Thanks in advance,
Tihol
