Caliper dragging.

When I disassembled a caliper from my 200q20v after replacing them, I found
the piston and cylinder corroded/pitted from rust. I think that caused a
drag that keeps the piston from moving away from the pad like it should. I
found the parking brake chamber beneath the rod the piston screws onto on
that caliper had fresh-looking "goo" lubricating it. When I stripped a
caliper off my '86 5ktq parts car, I found the chamber beneath the piston's
rod to be clogged with rust. Parking brake cables had been cut off that
car and I had to hammer the actuating lever arm back and forth a bunch to
get it loosened up.

Anyway, check the piston and cylinder walls for corrosion.
