Using stock 4kq front sway bar as a rear bar

Hello all...

Thank you all who supplied your feelings and advice on the shocks and
springs for my 4kcsq. I'll be ordering a setup soon. Most likely Boge
Turbo's and H+R's, but possibly Bilsteins if the wallet permits...

Anyway, on to the next idea:

I was reading some postings in the archives about improving 4000q handling
by mounting the stock front sway bar from a 4000q in the back to reduce body
roll...

I've seen Blau's bar and the price along with it. Saving that $275 was
motivation enough for me, so soon after I went to the pick n' pull and got a
stock 4kq front bar and all the hardware for $10.

My question now involves how exactly to mount the bar in the back. From what
I gather, the front suspension is almost the same as the rear, so it should
be relatively simple...

I've seen a picture on a website from someone who's done this (can't
remember who), but I don't think they used the stock brackets in the center
of the rear subframe. Does anyone have a procedure, website, some gotcha's
or maybe some BTDT's?

Another poster also recommended welding the bar to the rear of the
car...This is a little too "final" for me to do right now, plus I don't know
for sure that I'll like the way the bar will make the car handle.

Previously listers have claimed that this relatively thick bar in the rear
will (understandably) make the 4kq more prone to spins and tail-happy
behavior. Don't get me wrong...some of that could be fun, but not when
family is in the car and the exit ramp is slightly slick. I'm just looking
to take some of the roll out of the car's cornering behavior.

Any thoughts?
