    Well when you get in an accident that doesn't involve the police you can
fill out an accident report for that state's record bureau, some insurance
companies require it.  I filed one for my mum's 200q20v because Hanover
wanted a copy and it to be filed for record in NY, this will eventually be
of public record.  If cops are involved the accident report becomes public
record eventually no matter what (well most states) and Carfax can grab that
anytime they want.  All states differ though...
