I can't really blame them (auto makers in general) for using strange
tools on expensive exterior parts that might get stolen (headlights,
etc) or safety equipment (Bronco roofs with seatbelts attached) but
this is almost like putting a lock on the hood of the car and keeping
the key at the dealership. It's like they think the car will never,
ever need to be serviced where there isn't a dealer. In my opinion
they've put an intentional flaw in the cars by preventing service.
