My '87 5k, which was lowered about 40 mm, could not be adjusted to
less than 1.5 degree negative camber, but this had little/no influence
on tire wear. I think your alignment shop might have been smoking
something strange.. :-) Getting the camber 100% right is difficult on
a lowered type 44, but getting it close should be possible..
