This torque and hp curve is more characteristic of the K24 turbo combined
with the 20v motor, not the fuel and ignition system. You can have whatever
characteristics you want depending on engine configuration and turbo
specifications, your managment system should support this configuration
whether its Motronic or aftermarket. Throw a K27 on that same 3B motor, and
all that torque at 1900RPM will move to more like 3000RPM.

<< Hi List,
If a person was to duplicate the compression ratio and 20v head of
a 3B/AAN motor, using an MC motor as a base, and using
standalone programmable sequential fuel injection with electronic
direct ignition, shouldn't that person be able to duplicate the 228lb-
ft of torque at 1950rpm that the stock motor has?
I mean, if the hardware is the same or similar, and the computer
control is complete (controls the turbo, two knock sensors, ignition
advance, fuel, etc.), one should be able to tune the system to
perform similarly or better.
I'll have control over the engine management on my 4kstq project
car, so if in the future I can bolt on 20v parts without having to
source the ecu, harness, and stock peripherals to get it to run,
then I'll keep my eye out for the parts. I am attracted to that low
rpm torque the 20vt has.
Later,
Ken
