Ur boot lid and the origins

Quite right - Baur Coach Werks or something to that effect! But actually
they all had to be rebuilt after delivery from Baur. They were far from road
ready and were loaded onto a train and taken to Paris so that the FIA could
see that Audi had built the requisite 200. I cannot imagine the state of
the other manufacturers cars that were not intended for the public/dealers
etc. but that's another story. To meet Dr. Peich's standards, all the cars
were rebuilt by Audi over the period 1984-1985 and delivered as late as
1986. This required A/C being installed off site for some cars and
cannibalizing others to meet the finish standards when misfit parts had to
be sent back for rework. The Kevlar was a particular problem in this
respect.
More than you ever wanted to know huh!
