... recalls are usually intended to address safety issues ... clearly amps
catching fire and burning vehicles to the ground fits that category.  That
said, if you believe the front spoeaker failures also pose a safety issue,
my recommendation would be to bring this to the attention of the NHTSA as
well.  To my mind I don't know why people are coming down only upon Audi on
this ... all they did was to buy the things from Bose .. seems to me that
Bose is the company that should be feeling the heat ... ;-)  There certainly
seems to be evidence that a number of other marques suffer the same problems
... I would think that it might be worthy of some sort of class action
against them.  Might be good to talk to a lawyer first ... the things seem
to have lasted 10+ years already ... they may not be held responsible for
failures after that long a time.

Of course you won't get anything if you don't try!
