... well, I own an '88 5kCSQ and never got such a recall!

It is quite a simple matter to check the NHTSA website to see what recalls
were issued for any car.  Check out:

	http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/Index.cfm

Of the three recalls that apply to the '88 5000, none of them is to address
the cruise control.  Perhaps a recall was made on the 100/200, but I don't
think so ...
