3M makes an automotive adhesive/tar/bug remover. Griots Garage, Car
Care Online, and Proper Auto Care all carry it, I believe; make sure
it specifically states it is paintwork safe, 3M makes a LOT of
"remover" agents :-)

Some paint cleansing stuff would do the trick too, but would
involve a lot of elbow grease and could leave you with a "shiny
badge" :-) Don't waste money on clay bars, they're hopelessly
difficult to use and you'll end up mostly scratching the hell out of
the paint.

   I couldn't believe it when I saw Zym-whatever selling a clay bar
kit for almost $100! I think the extra dollars go to the special
keyboards for their marketing staff to type all those funny umlats; I
think they snort their own products to come up with those fancy
spellings of product names. I especially enjoy the SUV-specific,
Volvo-specific, NSX-specific, etc waxes; let's not even start on the
$150 "hand poured" wax. What a bunch of whoey. Oh, and the
"schpritzer" bottle. What moron buys a little teeny spray bottle for
$10 when you can get really nice ones at home depot for $2-ish? Same
with Griot's "ultimate sprayer"...
