My 87 5kcstq has been a joy to drive ever since I installed the SJM computer
mod and 1.8 bar spring. Lately, the last 200 miles to be exact, the yellow
check engine light comes on when the car gets to about 3200 rpm in any gear.
This is the light with a picture of the engine with a symbol in it which
looks like #. I thought that I might have gotten a particularly bad load of
gas (I normally use regular) and changed from regular to premium (BP
Ultimate, since I work for BP). The light still comes on at about 3200
rpm. Have any of the listers had a similar problem ? Would I be causing
serious damage if I drove through the light, assuming that this is just Audi
electronics and nothing is wrong or should I take this warning light
seriously ? Could this be a knock sensor malfunction ?
Thanks for the help.
Chander
