quattro noise in rear

       Today I took my '86 TQ out for a short ride The car has been off the
road since '00 and never driven by me before. There seems to be a lot of
noise from the rear, but not of a metal to metal nature. I notice from the
service records that a rear bushing was replaced about 30K miles ago, so I am
discounting it. Any experience out there with noisy tires, etc. I considered
flat spotted tires from the long period sitting, does that happen any more?
