Any comments on how/what to use to attempt repairs on plastic parts?
I'm wondering if there is a way to tell what type of chemistry should be
applied to mend various types of plastic. Seems to me the word "glue"
or "epoxy" doesn't begin to describe the right way to select a bonding
agent. I recall trying to repair a headlight frame with some stuff -
which literally smoked the plastic when the two broken parts were first
joined - and though a strong joint was apparently made, it soon failed
because of the tiny surface area involved. Can't remember the name of
the stuff I used though.
General comments on selecting bonding or reinforcing agents for
attempting to fix plastic car parts would appreciated.
