Most reports I've read of broken wiring in the car side of the circuit (as
opposed to the brake pad side) are that a wire has broken somewhere within
the wheelwell, where it takes the greatest beating.  If jumpering the
carside connector doesn't shut off the warning, I'd try tracing the wires
back to somewhere in the engine compartment and do a continuity test from
there.  I suppose that there's a circuit in the instrument cluster you
could jumper to do the same thing, but the trick would be figuring out
which one.
