Interesting. My A6 2.8 blew out its water pump (as in leaked all the
coolant RIGHT NOW) just before Xmas. Fixed under warranty; dealer
replaced timing belt while they were in there.

Had the car back four days and it just quit running while
driving...towed it in. Dealer says that it appears new pump
seized...bent valves, etc.

Hmmmm...
