Chip recommendations

I would like to hear from those that have purchased/installed/played with ECU
chip mods, with recommendations of do's & don'ts. I'm looking for
source/brand testimonials. From what I've seen on the list, it would seem
that S Mockry, and Hoppen (sp?) are highly revered?
I'm well aware of Tap and their reputation/shortcomings, so discussions of
others would be appreciated.
Recipient would be an 83 WX URQ.
