Could well be, or it could be a heap.
I was looking for a Range Rover a while back, and saw an ad for one in the
paper..."4 year old Range Rover County, low mileage, all options, blah blah
blah. $2000." This particular truck should have been selling for $20K.
Phone number put the ad somewhere within an hour's drive or so. I grabbed my
checkbook, tore out the ad, and bolted out of the house even before I
called.
As soon as I hit the road, I called the seller, who said "Oh, I guess I'm
going to get a *lot* of calls, huh?"
I don't think he mislisted the price...it was just a typo...but if it *had*
been a $2K truck, I would not have stopped until I got to his place and
written a check. :)
These things *do* come up every now and then.
Years ago a friend of mine at Dunlop Tire (Corporate) in Buffalo sold off a
half dozen Jaguar XJ6 sedans for about 20% of retail. Year old cars, driven
around a track for 100K miles, mechanical work done, etc. Nobody had ever
sat in the back seats, cars had never been parallel parked, etc. They were
test mules for a new tire...
