BE CAREFUL!!
Follow the procedure as listed for your own safety... ;-)
1. remember to turn OFF radio(get hold of the CODE as well) and DISCONNECT battery
2. remove airbag & disconnect it, put it on an even surface face up, dont drop from more than 50cm, danger!
3. mark placement/ remove wheel, remember, leeve the key with ignition on, unlocked wheel
4. replace switch
5. mount steering wheel
6. connect airbag and mount
7. set ignition to ON before reconnecting battery
(and DONT let anybody sit in front of airbag while connecting battery )
8. igniton off, check radio (apply CODE if necessary)
9. and your DONE
Have just done the operation following this procedure, safe and sound, no problems. Procedure taken from:
So wird's gemacht by H.R.Etzold Delius Klasing Verlag, its like a German Bentley manual.
Leeving the ignition ON while reconnecting is possibly to avoid peeks of high voltage from setting off the airbag.
There is a fix for earting the wheel for pre95 model A6 to avoid static electrisity setting off the airbag...
Dont now if this also apply to 90' 100, but check it out if possible.... maybe others on the list now if this apply to your car..
