Working on the climate control

I spent the better part of Sunday morning disassembling the center console to
get to the heat flap motor and potentiometer. What a pain in the ass! It was
such a pain in the ass I'm tempted to replace the motor and potentiometer
rather then risk having to take it all a part again - regardless as to whether
that's the problem. Even after everything was removed according to Bently
there's still bearly and room to get at the parts. No wonder M&M Audi wanted
over $400.
I've eliminated vacuum leaks under the hood and I'm 85% certain it isn't the
climate controller. That leaves either the motor or vacuum under the dash. I
figure while I've got it a part I may as well replace a couple switches and
clean out all the dirt that's collected too.
