Simple diagnostics. Fan runs fine, blows cold air?
Get engine to operating temp. Open hood. Find the heater hose at the heater valve, near the firewall behind the head. Hot on both sides of valve?
Sounds like the climate control head is not properly controlling the heat blend doors that direct air across the heater core. Could also be bad interior air temp sensors, but that's less likely.
Go here: http://www.12v.org/maint/cc.html
and read out the climate control error codes.
My guess is that you've got a faulty flap position motor potentiometer. The control head thinks the flaps are in one position, but they're not...
About $80, and you could install it yourself without too much trouble. More expensive at the dealer; use the bosch part number off the side.
BTW, I don't have an S4/6, so rely on the codes, not on my advice.
