Listers,
As Kent was asking about timing belt change interval
on the V8 he's looking at being done 7 or so years ago
I have a question on the other end of that
I first had my timing belt and stuff done at 90k
with all other stuff water pump, seals, pully,
then I did it myself this time at 160k or so without
doing the water pump and such just the belt everything
looked ok and has been so for another timing belt
change
I'm at 223k and would like to know if maybe I can get
to about 250k another 30k without doing the belt and
related stuff I'ts only been about 3 1/2 years
some listers saied the belt should last around 7
years
when the service was done at 90k it was done with all
dealer OE parts I haven't had any indication of
anything sounding or looking phishy
the belt I used at the 160k is a Conti belt I've
taken the timing belt cover off and the belt and
related stuff look to be in good working order no
leakes or wetness in the areas.
Whats other listers BTDT's on time interval years v.s
milage?
Saied car is 87 5ksq non turbo quattro so the engine
is non interferance so if I do waite and the timing
belt was to break there would problly be minimal
damage to the engine?
Thanks
Ron
