Earlier, in an attempt of humorous sarcasm, I stated that:
"Yours was a Conti belt, and because of that sneaky ingeniousity, you are
fine to go more than 100K miles between change. Even the water pump, which
has already been on the car foe 133K miles will last another 70K - 80K miles.
You will have absolutely no problems whatsoever. Your Audi is a special
build, which requires much less maintenance than all other Audis."
I have already seen *one* rebuttal to this on the list, so I must make myself perfectly clear:
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RUN A TIMING BELT FOR 100K MILES.
CHANGE THE TIMING BELT EVERY 60K MILES - OR ACCORDING TO AUTOMAKERS RECOMMENDATIONS FOR YEAR AND MILEAGE!
So, now, let it not fall on my shoulders if you blow up your engine!
