Hi Gang,
First of all: HOW 'BOUT DEM PATRIOTS!!! next, there is a '89 200Q for
sale in the Providence Sunday Journal. I do not have any knowledge of
the car or owner...just saw his ad and I'm passing it on.
AUDI: 1989 200 Quattro. 5 speed
Turbo. Loaded. Leather, sunroof.
New tires. Inspected. 160K mi.
$1850/best 401-864-5965.
Now to my dilemma. I took my 87' 5kCSQ into the guy I have do the work
under the car where I can't get to. He is having the devil's own time
getting the bolts out where the turbo attaches to the exhaust manifold.
He has now had the car for a week. He has the airbox out, and all the
hoses off the turbo, and says that the turbo to downpipe bolts are not
a problem. I suggested that he lavish the offending bolts with
penetrating oil and let them sit over night. He says that he doesn't
believe in penetrating oil and that the only thing that works for him
is heat and lots of it. So he is heating up the nuts and trying to get
a wrench on them. Is there a better technique to use to get the turbo
out of the car? Does the whole EM have to come off or can the turbo be
removed with the EM in place.
TIA and hope that all of you are having a fine weekend; it was 55F.
here today and suppose to be 60F. tomorrow. I love this global
warming:-)
