You might as well have a new rubber one on hand.  An old rubber one
might be reusable, but an old cork one will come out in pieces.

It will take more than 15 mins, by the way.

You might as well take the opportunity to clean, lube and refresh as
much of the clutter that is in the way that you have to remove as you
can.
