Thank god for my DOT bumper...but what's up with my DOT lights?

Thanks for all the list input.
It did indeed turn out to be the brakelight switch. A
pretty easy fix, but I must say I was a little
overwhelmed to see the electrical nests of multi-colored
spaghetti under the dash. I would hate for something a
bit more complicated and unknown to go bad "down under".
While I was "down under" I noticed that there were other
switches on the pedals. I think there was another on the
brake bracket and one on the clutch bracket. They looked
identical to one another. They are black plastic, have a
two pronged electrical contact on them and both have a
vacuum line running to them. What are they? What do they
activate or deactivate. I am just curious to know.
Thanks again for the wonderful help of the list.
Hopefully a few months down the road I will be helping
the list as well as asking the list for help.
