I would think a lot depends on how you drive. If you
started it once and drove straight for 7500 miles on
level ground with a 60 degree F spring day, that
would be a lot easier on the engine than starting it
on a 0 degree winter day, driving 1 mile, then shutting
it off, letting it cool, and repeating it at the end of
the day, for 7500 miles.

For the most part, the oil stays oily. The oil filter
removes particles. The oil has addivtives that wear
out or are consumed in the normal course of events.
The engine also produces acids and other bad things
as by-products of the combustion process. These are
not removed except by changing the oil.

Cold start-ups, short run times, stop-and-go driving
shorten engine life.

I'm no expert, but I learn a lot reading lists like
this.
