Hmmm.  First, I'm assuming the dizzy is assembled right and it is the
stock unit (because the MC etc. turbo engines don't have vacuum cans,
they control advance electronically).  Right?  Then, hey, it doesn't
matter!

I actually reinstalled my coupe dist. all wrong on purpose, to make the
two little clips easier to undo in the future.  What this means is I
lined up the rotor differently as I reinserted the gear and meshed it
with the camshaft.  All that *matters* is the relative position of the
camshaft and hence rotor contact with the distributor cap.  Crudely, the
rotor should point at plug wire #1 when #1 is at TDC, give or take your
static advance/retard.

Set the actual position by timing light.  Oh, that does assume you can
get the engine to spin and spark on its own, of course.

Up the dosage, mix in some diet pills, and play Dark Side of the Moon
whilst viewing The Wizard of Oz.  They'll make sense then.
