Hi,
Can I get some advice on what to look for to solve this
please? First, my gas pedal felt as though pressing further beyond what
was giving a steady driving speed (about 40 mph) produced little change in
power (no missing or other signs of engine trouble). It also felt as
though the gas pedal linkage might be hung up in floormat or other
place. I pressed quite far down on pedal thinking to clear it and in a
second or so got a good increase in speed. Only problem was engine speed
stayed up there. Didn't seem to help by attempting to lift pedal with
toe. Felt like an automatic with too high idle speed. When I
disengaged clutch, tach went up to 4000 rpm with no pedal pressure. I was
ready to switch off ignition but rpm came down by itself. But now idle
speed is around 2000 rpm.
Did I bend something or slip some joint by pressing beyond the gas
pedal resistance? Help!
