multifunction temp sensor on 87.5 CGT

Hi gang,

Just a point of reference, on the 87.5 coupe GT, the digital temp gauge is
run by a single standard temp sensor located just above the #1 cylinder and
NOT the multi function temp sensor. I was all set to rip this piece of
junk out over the weekend, and was checking the wiring when I noticed that
the blue/brown wire which Audi uses to run the temp gauge went not to the
MF sensor but to the single sensor underneath the PS pump bracket. That
means the MF sensor is just being used for the 120 deg. C overheat switch
and also overheat for the A/C compressor controlled relay. For now, I just
unplugged the connector and left it until I can find a M14x1.5 bolt to
thread into the bottom of coolant outlet. Ideally, I like to drill this
bolt and tap for M10x1K hole to run a 4kq style dual temp sensor/overheat
switch.

Anybody (Javad?) know of standard Audi hardware in this size? Only thing
I've come up with is a wheel bolt which would require a bit of machining to
be usable.

TIA,

Tony
