OK, I stopped by the dealer yesterday and told the parts guy that although I
had a 4kq, the PO had used the gasket for a 5kt in the interest of holding down
the oil leaks, and I'd like to follow suit. The one I got is rubber, p/n 034 198
025D. But the flat spacers vs. recessed spacers bit is totally news to me, and I
have no idea what kind of studs I have--never did get the cover off on Sunday.
The way I left it with my mechanic (who makes house calls) is that he's coming
by tomorrow (Wednesday) to do this, and then on Thursday he goes out of town for
a week and a half. How critical is this business of flat vs. recessed spacers?
