Wouldn't you need some sort of special cam too? What do the 25v valvetrains look like?
I was thinking about something like this just the other day as a matter of fact. I wondered if it would be possible to locate an unmachined casting in order to machine your own valve holes and such. But I guess the ports are probably cast into the head prior to machining.
I also wonder about lost foam casting. My Saturn uses that technology for the aluminum block and head, at least. I saw a similar head (looks like styrofoam spray painted silver) at the machine shop that turned my Audi flywheels. That head turned out to be a Chevy S10 pickup head.
If it's possible to copy the head by making a cheap mold that was only strong enough to be able to blow styrofoam into. Then you could use that styrofoam replica to sand cast a new head. Or you could maybe do the lost wax method I suppose. I don't know much about that. These would both be investment casting methods, since the "investment" of the wax or styrofoam is lost in the process?

I think this would be feasible for a good welder, though the TIG could just
weld the water passages together... But it's a good idea indeed...anyone
has a spare (or two, even warped or cracked) 1.8 20v head they want to
donate so I could make my own 25v head :-)))))))) ???>>
