Uhm... Thanks allot for the post - but - uhm... I'm a little confused about
what your opinion actually is... Do you mind or not the posts of items FS on
the list?
I am only on Audifans mailing lists (currently). I used to be on the old
Buicks list too. What a bunch of stiffs there! Anyway, I don't have any
experience with what goes on AFA FS items on lists in general, but I have
never minded the posts here.
Chris (JordanVw at aol.com) just posted a rear spoiler FS, and *then* posted
the pic on the marketplace. Well, I have been looking high and low for a
rear spoiler for my V8, and before I had V8's, for my other type 44's, but a
certain type of rear spoiler. I am not sure I have ever seen one in the US.
However, I am not *actively* seeking it. When Chris posted one FS, I
suddenly became interested, since it is rare to see body trim for the type
44's, and I was then later able to go to the marketplace to view the
particulars.
My point is that I would never have gone to the marketplace ISO the spoiler,
since I am not *actively* looking for one, but since one *suddenly* popped
up on the list, I became very tempted (right up until wifeee put down her
veto on the wing, saying I need clothes before stupid car accessories).
Which one of y'all is it that has a wife that supports your Audi habit? I
have one question to that person: "How did you get her thus trained?"
Anyway, I haven't read the list rules closely, but I know better than to get
into too many NAC discussions, political or religious debates, or flame
wars - which I have previously commented are so wonderfully scarce on these
lists! But AFA other rules, I have just used basic common sense up until
this point. I think we just ought all relax a bit, and enjoy the hobby /
necessity of owning an Audi.
If you want to see what being too bound by rules can lead to, then just sign
up for the buicks at yahho.com group. What a sad bunch of people with
broomsticks up their A$$es, who have forgotten how to enjoy their 1900 -
1970 Buick, and would rather haggle over the rules and do's and don'ts of
their precious list.
¢2 (or maybe a little more? ¢10?)
