Hi Andrew,
So, follow up on the lister's speculation.

Change your oil and filter.  Open the filter with a cutting wheel/drill and
examine the element.  Slowly pour the oil over some sort of light colored
sloped chute(to generate a thin film) and look for little sparkles.
