well, i just got the electromotive hpx4 crank trigger ignition on my daily
driver gti that has dual sidedraughts and all i can say is good things. very
well built and works great. if i wanted i can get a slider in the cab and
while driving, adv/retard my timing among other things like a map sensor and
a backup trigger sensor. i payed 510 us dollars from totalperformance. heres
the hpx- http://www.electromotive-inc.com/products/hpx.html also i talked to
a tech at electromotive about wire recommendations and the tech was very
nice and knew exactly what i had etc. they dont have a 5cyl solution but i
imagine they would modify a hpx6 possibly.

not bad.. but I think I'd want coil outputs for that money. I can
understand the lack of knock sensing sense racers are more likely to
tune things so that knock should never happen. a visible output like
the saab setup sounds pretty cool.. Could you describe that setup a bit
more as I may be interested in more informative knock output....
I have yet to see how my CIS 3 ignition will perform as the car is 2
states away right now and I haven't had a chance to get much seat time
in it to tune it up and take it for some hard runs.
