blink code woes

Having a little problem with my '92 Coupe GT (engine 3A) which I hope
someone here might be able to shed some light on.

I'm trying to get at the diagnostic blink codes - more out of curiosity
than because I believe anything's wrong.  Anyhow, as far as I can see,
I've followed the advice at http://s2central.net/blinkhow.html (the
2-connector version), which also corresponds to the Haynes manual, but
whatever I try, the LED stays on the whole time - key on, key off, jumper
on, jumper off ... any suggestions as to what might be wrong here?
